Dynamo Volleyball Club 2019-2020

Before the season was put to an abrupt end due to Covid-19 I managed to get out to a tournament of my sister’s volleyball team; Dynamo Volleyball Club and shoot some photos.

I am very familiar with how the game works as I play myself, so I really enjoyed shooting volleyball. Capturing the team’s spirit came forward naturally as the girls were always cheering each other on. What pleased me with taking these images is all the angles I managed to cover with my 70-300mm telephoto. As plays are always happening in different positions, it complimented my shooting style as I could position myself all around the court. Shooting from behind the bleachers allowed me to get creative by framing the subjects, adding more depth to the composition and adding emphasis on the player.

Overall this series shows the high concentration environment on the court, paired with the radiant team energy. And best of all, it all ends off with a game win.
