Serratus Movement Centre Halloween Competition 2019

Most of my audience probably isn’t aware that I have been training as a parkour athlete since 2014. And as of 2018, I have been working at Serratus Movement Centre coaching classes, parties, and camps for Parkour and Ninja Warrior. So when I heard about Serratus hosting their first competition I offered right away to cover photo and video; which can be found below!

It was amazing seeing all the kids waiting for their turn at the course dressed up in their Halloween costumes. And yes, there were plenty of ninjas… Shooting the runs was challenging yet so rewarding as I had to weave through the obstacles following the contestant during their run. I found that using the massive bar structure as foreground turned out very well for more dynamic shots. But nothing beat the pure joy on the children’s faces when they completed their runs which I captured quite well as they reached the top of the infamous warped wall.

After plenty of smiling, laughing, costumes, and a lot of great runs the winners were announced for each age category and the competition came to an end. The community setting I captured in this series can always be looked back on to reflect on what a great job Serratus Movement Centre did of hosting this event!

“These are great!!”

“Any chance you would be willing to come in again?”

“Wow, you’re good! Thanks so much”
